Korean Air signs cooperation deal with Myanmar Airways

Korean Air has signed a partnership and codeshare memorandum of understanding with Myanmar Airways International (MAI). The official signing took place at Korean Airs headquarters and present at the signing ceremony were the president and COO of Korean Air, Chang Hoon Chi and the managing director of MAI, Si Thu.


UNDP pledges $150 million to Myanmar

The UN Development Programme (UNDP) will give a US$150 million development package to Myanmar under a three-year action plan, state-run newspaper The New Light of Myanmar reported on Tuesday.

Myanmar economy to grow strongly, says ADB

Asian Development Bank (ADB) has predicted that Myanmar's economy will continue to grow strongly due to ongoing policy reforms. The predictions came in Asian Development Outlook 2013 released on April 9.
"The outlook for the Myanmar economy is the brightest it has been for decades with investment, exports, tourism, and business optimism all on the rise,” said ADB chief economist Changyong Rhee. “However, this positive outlook could be at risk if the forward momentum of policy reforms falters or if recent tensions escalate further.”
