The Economic and Social Survey of Asia and the Pacific 2016 monitors regional progress, providing cutting-edge analyses and guiding policy discussion on the current and emerging socioeconomic issues and policy challenges to support inclusive and sustainable development in the region. The global launch of the 2016 Survey was held in Bangkok and presented by Dr. Shamshad Akhtar, United Nations Under-Secretary-General and Executive Secretary of ESCAP, with 24 simultaneous regional launches held by experts and academics around Asia and the Pacific.
