Botched Attack on Paris Churches Another Case of ‘Known Wolf’ Terrorism

Britain warns against traveling to Myanmar

LONDON, Aug. 6 (UPI) -- The British government said Tuesday it was advising against travel to parts of Myanmar because of a serious threat of civil unrest.

The British Foreign and Commonwealth Office said it was warning against all but essential travel to Rakhine. The western coastal state has witnessed ongoing violence between Buddhists and members of the minority Muslim community.

Statement attributable to the Spokesperson for the Secretary-General on Myanmar

The Secretary-General welcomes the agreement reached today between the Government of Myanmar and the Kachin Independence Organisation, after their first meeting inside Myanmar since the conflict broke out in June 2011. His Special Adviser, Vijay Nambiar, was present as Observer at the talks on behalf of the United Nations, together with representatives from the Chinese Embassy and Myanmar's ethnic nationality groups.


Alliance visiting UK next week

The United Nationalities Federal Council (UNFC) is sending a delegation to the United Kingdom next week, according to UNFC and British embassy sources.
The delegation will be led by the alliance’s chairman Lt-Gen N.Ban La and Secretary General Nai Hong Sa.
The main purpose of the visit will be to study about the peace process in Northern Ireland.
